Welcome to Asia Maritime Pacific
AMP is a privately owned shipping company that operates a fleet of owned and chartered-in mini-MPP vessels, ships of between 6,600 and 8,500 dwt. The company is headquartered in Hong Kong, with offices in Shanghai, Tokyo, London and has a presence in Australia, through our association with Rhumb Maritime Pty Ltd in Melbourne.
The company was first established in 2008 by a group of seasoned shipping investors, including the co-founders of Pacific Basin, and is fast becoming one of the largest owners and operators of mini-MPP vessels in the Asia Pacific region. Our business is built on the cornerstones of reliability, reputation, technical excellence and flexibility.
We currently operate a fleet of 14 vessels, of which 11 are owned by AMP. Our fleet is modern and standardised, with an average vessel age of around one year. AMP’s business plan and newbuilding program also ensure that our fleet will continue to expand in the coming years.
Our focus since the company was founded has been the South-East Asian market, carrying multiple cargoes but in particular project cargo, machinery, steels, fertilizers and timber. Our ships service ports throughout the region, from Australia and South-East Asia to China, Japan and South Korea. Our vessels share a multi-purpose, box-shaped hold structure, enabling them to carry a wide variety of bulk and breakbulk cargoes, including palletised cargo, forest products and project cargoes such as pipes, machinery and vehicles.
In addition to our chartering service, which is the core of our business, our technical team is involved in technical third party ship management, with four vessels of various sizes currently under management for third parties.
