Welcome to Asia Maritime Pacific (AMP)
AMP is a privately owned shipping company that operates a fleet of both owned and chartered-in Handysize and mini-MPP vessels. Our Handysize vessels operate internationally, with a focus on China-West Africa and China-Australia dry bulk trades. Our mini-MPP fleet operates on the intra-Asia and Australian dry bulk trades. The company is headquartered in Hong Kong, with offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, London and Luanda, and has a presence in Australia, through our association with Rhumb Maritime Pty Ltd in Melbourne.
AMP was created in May 2012, as a result of a merger between the mini-MPP operator AMP and Handysize operator OSL Shipping. The merger created a larger, more sophisticated company with a more diverse fleet and an increased ability to provide its customers with the best possible service. The management and advisory team of AMP today consists of seasoned shipping investors, including the co-founders of Pacific Basin, and experienced individuals from the finance sector. Our business model is built on the cornerstones of reliability, reputation, technical excellence and flexibility.
We currently operate a fleet of 23 vessels, of which 21 are owned by AMP. Our fleet is modern and standardised, with a focus on smart design to suit our diverse trades and fuel efficiency. AMP’s business plan and newbuilding program also ensure that our fleet will remain modern and continue to expand in the coming years.
AMP’s cargoes are diverse. Our Handysize vessels and 6,600 dwt mini-MPPs are log fitted, carrying multiple cargoes but in particular timbers, project cargo, machinery, steels, and fertilizers. Our ships service ports throughout the region, from ports throughout West Africa, to Australia, South-East Asia, China, Japan and South Korea. Our vessels share a multi-purpose, box-shaped hold structure, enabling them to carry a wide variety of bulk and breakbulk cargoes, including palletised cargo, forest products and project cargoes such as pipes, machinery and vehicles.
In addition to our chartering service, which is the core of our business, our technical team is involved in technical third party ship management, with six vessels of various sizes currently under technical management for third parties, and a further two vessels under commercial management.
