Mark Young

Mr. Young holds a degree in International Shipping Management from Shanghai Maritime University. In 1993 he co-founded Younger Niche Logistics, now a major logistics service provider in China, with over 100 employees and offices in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Tianjin, Urumqi and Hong Kong and an annual cargo turnover of over 3 million tonnes. Mr. Young has a number of other shipping interests operating throughout the Asia-Pacific and African regions.

Mr. Young has been the Chief Executive Officer of AMP since the company was founded in 2008.

JP Chen

Mr. Chen has over 20 years of experience in technical ship management. He graduated from Jimei University in 1986 and spent 14 years aboard bulkers and general cargo ships, including as General Engineer from 1996 until 2000, when he joined Good Faith shipping as a Superintendent of ship management, and was responsible for Handysize, Panamax and Capesize bulkers as well as general cargo ships. In 2005 he joined Pacific Basin as a Ship Manager responsible for Handysize bulk carriers, and in 2006 joined TCC as a Technical Manager, responsible for Panamax and Capesize bulkers.

Mr. Chen has been the Technical Director of AMP since June 2009.

Tim Chen

Mr. Chen graduated from Columbia University in 1996 and has over 13 years of experience in the finance industry. After graduating, he joined JP Morgan in their structured products and project finance divisions. In 2000 he joined Morgan Stanley and focussed on mergers and acquisitions, with a focus on complex capital market transactions for listings in Hong Kong, Singapore and London. From 2007 to 2009 he was the Executive Director of Affinity Partners, a Hong Kong based private equity firm with a focus on divestment/investment in China, Korea and Singapore.

Mr. Chen joined AMP as CFO in 2009.

Zhu Hui

Mr. Zhu has over 20 years of experience in international shipping and transportation management. He graduated from Wuhan University of Science and Technology in 1986, after which he joined the Shanghai Port Barge Company and was subsequently responsible for the management of transportation to and from Shanghai Port. In 1996, he joined Shanghai Puyuan Shipping as the Shipping Manager and assistant to the General Manager, before leaving to join Younger Niche in 2004 as the General Manager.

Mr. Zhu has been the COO of AMP since the company was founded in 2008.

Paul Over

Mr. Over has over 30 years of experience in the shipping industry. After training as a shipbroker from 1976 to 1980, he joined Jardine, Matheson & Company as Chartering Manager. He worked with Continental Grain Company from 1984 until 1987, when he joined Pacific Basin as a Director at the company’s inception. Mr. Over was Pacific Basin’s COO from 1991 until 1996, and remained with the company (under a new name and new management) until 1998, when he left to re-establish Pacific Basin together with Chris Buttery( AMP’s Chairman).

As well as holding a number of non-executive directorships, Mr. Over is the Deputy Chairman of the Baltic Exchange.

Ricky Yip

Mr. Yip has over 30 years of experience in the shipping industry. After joining Wheelock Marine Service for 6 years, in 1984 he joined Fairmont Shipping, acting as Assistant Vice President for chartering and operations in both Hong Kong and Vancouver. From 1995 to 2008, he worked with Pacific Basin in London and Hong Kong, and was appointed General Manager of the Commercial Division in Shanghai in 2004, responsible for chartering and newbuilding projects.

Mr. Yip was also appointed as a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

Mr. Yip has been the General Manager of AMP since the company’s inception in 2008.

Chris Buttery

Mr. Buttery has over 30 years of experience in the shipping industry. Upon graduating from University College, Oxford University in 1971 with a Masters degree in Modern History, he joined Jardine, Matheson & Company, and was appointed a Director of Jardine Shipping Limited in 1979 after completing the London Business School Executive Program. In 1981 he set up Contishipping in Hong Kong and was appointed Regional Chartering Director and Vice President of Grain Trading for Continental Enterprises in 1983. In 1987 he jointly founded Pacific Basin Shipping and was CEO and Chairman of the Board when the company was listed on NASDAQ (1994 to 1996). In 1998, he re-established Pacific Basin together with Paul Over (AMP’s Executive Director), and was Deputy Chairman from 2001 until 2004, when he was appointed as Chairman in March 2004. Pacific Basin re-listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in July 2004.

Mr. Buttery has also served as a director of Jardine Fleming Japanese Smaller Companies Ltd (listed on The London Stock Exchange) and Ton Poh Emerging Thailand Fund.
